Tip of the Day
Tackling the tailgaters
Tailgaters are those who drive very close to the vehicle at high
speeds, who are annoying & a hazard on road. Due to the close
proximity that they maintain, tailgaters do not get time to react
quickly & can crash on to the vehicle. With some patience & defensive
driving mindful of the surroundings, such people can be avoided.
Slow down gradually & let the person pass. A tailgater is not only
dangerous behind your vehicle but also on the front of it, as they
will/can slam the brake any time without notice.
Never pump the brakes to make an attempt to tell them that they are
too close. This may seem logical, but the tailgater will become
desensitized & may won’t respond if you really want to stop.
Never race with a tailgater as the proximity & the speed will
eventually put you on a stressful driving situation. If you notice
that the route you are taking is attracting constant source for
tailgating or other road rage, then it’s safer to find another way to
go.
