Tip of The Day

What warning lights mean

The most obvious sign that something is not right is provided by the
gauges & the warning lights on the dashboard. When they come on, it’s
safe to assume that there is a problem with the vehicle rather than an
instrument failure which is not very common.

If the temperature gauge is giving a very high reading, the engine is
overheating. Turning on the heater will help to cool down the engine a
bit. If the engine still blows in not so hot air, then you should
definitely stop & investigate.

A high & increasing temperature along with glowing ignition light may
mean that the drive belt is broken or slipping. If the oil pressure
light comes on, then you should stop the vehicle immediately as all
these can cause serious engine damage.

Don’t ignore persistent misfire or sudden extra noise from the exhaust
in the hope that it will clear. During any of these situations, get
the vehicle inspected immediately.
