Tip of The Day

Why tyre pressure is important

Proper air pressure in the tyres helps to distribute the weight of the
vehicle evenly, so that the tyres & the vehicle are on its most stable
way. When tyres are under-inflated or over-inflated, it will lose its
stability & will negatively affect handling, cornering & braking.

Under-inflated tyres will flex more during braking & cornering, there
by generating so much heat that it may result in a blowout. This will
put a lot of stress on the tyre wall & to the wheels there by
compromising safety.

Over-inflated tyres can be more prone to damages as it will not
respond as expected to common road hazards like potholes. While
travelling at high speeds the temperature will build up & expands the
air inside, this can also result in a tyre burst.

By checking tyre wear you can identify. Under-inflation shows heavy
wear on the side of the tyres or cracks on the side wall &
over-inflation shows the same on the centre of the thread.
